Alaska heliskiing

The leading European heliskiing agency since the early 1980's, at Yak & Yeti we offer you our heliskiing expertise, experience and passion, to help you discover the most beautiful heliskiing bases on the planet 'Mountain': Heliskiing in Russia, Heliskiing in Turkey, Heliskiing in Greenland, Heliskiing in Canada, Heliskiing in Chile.

Our different heliskiing bases are in the Caucasus mountains, at Krasnaya Poliana, at Mount Elbrouz, and of course on the legendary Kamtchatka peninsula in Eastern Russia. Our main goal is to offer you the best heliskiing and snowboarding in the world with maximum safety conditions thanks to high quality staff.

Proximity, altitude, a stable snow mantle, conviviality, the in-depth experience of our guides and pilots, exclusivity; we offer you all this in close proximity to Europe. So that you can live your dream in optimum conditions, we offer: skiing in small groups for maximum time on the slopes, qualified, experienced and versatile guides and pilots to lead your group, and a maximum of 3 groups per week to guarantee you a friendly stay and the best possible timing of helicopter round trips.

Descents take place between 3200 and 700 m altitude. A never-ending succession of superb, wind-sheltered slopes and bowls, magnificent forests of well-spaced silver birches and snow conditions that no longer exist in Europe (influence of the Black Sea) create a true powder and heliskiing paradise for skiers of all levels on non-glacial terrain. The ski lifts (4 chairlifts) offer a genuine ski area that is appreciated in bad weather.

Each participant in a heliskiing trip is equipped with an ARB (avalanche rescue beacon), a shovel, a probe and an ABS airbag (the ABS Airbag offers you 150 liters more volume for improved safety in the event of an avalanche; it balances victims' specific weight with respect to the surrounding snow and prevents them from sinking down in the snow mass. Comparable to a life vest, the bag enables the victim to 'swim' on the surface. The extra 150 l volume is designed for light, cold snow. The heavier and denser the snow, the less extra volume is required).

The territory available to us is immense (exclusivity of Yak & Yeti Services). It offers an unlimited choice of descents according to the different exposures, snow quality, altitude, and the group's technical level. The site of Lake Riza is especially suited to heliskiing and offers each skier the opportunity to leave tracks in totally virgin powder. Groups are made up of 5 skiers or snowboarders led by an experienced guide (European guide, member of the International Union of Mountain Guide Associations - UIAGM). Each guide has a radio link to the other guides and the helicopter. The guides have all the necessary first aid equipment in their pack.

Yak & Yeti Héliski has been specializing in heliskiing and skiing holidays since 1980. We believe that heliskiing is an activity that must take place in optimum safety conditions, in small groups led by experienced and friendly mountain guides. Its impact on the environment must also be minimal. The adventure that you will experience must remain 'interior'.
