Heliskiing in the Caucasus
As heliskiing pioneers in Europe and trailbreakers in Russia since 1988, we've explored the world on skis to find the most spectacular slopes. A leading organization in Europe for 28 years, Yak & Yéti offers you its unique experience with heliskiing and safety. Come discover our heliskiing bases on the planet 'Mountain'.
In our catalogue you'll find the most spectacular heliskiing destinations on the planet 'Mountain', with personalized guide services offering total safety in order to experience the intensive emotions of untracked powder, virgin slopes, unspoiled nature and wild animals. The helicopter allows you to link a series of fantastic descents on highly varied and infinitely open terrain. The spirit of adventure with no borders or limits. Immaculate slopes far from the beaten track and magnificent wild valleys just waiting for your signature.
Drawing from our in-depth experience with different heliskiing operations around the world, we have decided to open our own heliskiing bases to meet the following criteria: Close to Europe to limit access trip duration and jet lag. Large surface area of the mountain ranges, with summits culminating at 3000 meters. Proximity of the sea to ensure snow mantle stability. Organization of heliskiing in small groups with a maximum of 3 groups per week. Groups led by highly experienced guides and pilots. Possibility to reserve your own private trip with personal guide and helicopter.
Each stay starts with an information session on helicopter skiing and the safety rules. You receive an explanatory brochure with illustrations to facilitate understanding. Helicopter loading and unloading procedures are part of this information session. The theoretical part of the information session is then followed by a practical avalanche victim rescue exercise using an ARB.
Each participant in a heliskiing trip is equipped with an ARB (avalanche rescue beacon), a shovel, a probe and an ABS airbag (the ABS Airbag offers you 150 liters more volume for improved safety in the event of an avalanche; it balances victims' specific weight with respect to the surrounding snow and prevents them from sinking down in the snow mass. Comparable to a life vest, the bag enables the victim to 'swim' on the surface. The extra 150 l volume is designed for light, cold snow. The heavier and denser the snow, the less extra volume is required).
A week spent heliskiing on the most fantastic slopes in the world...Take advantage of our experience and live your dream, by traveling with us to one of the destinations offered by Yak & Yeti: Alaska, Argentina, Canada, Chile, the Himalayas, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey! Each destination is different, due to its terrain, accommodations or exotic nature... allowing each rider to find the destination that best corresponds to his/her expectations.
Yak & Yeti Héliski has been specializing in heliskiing and skiing holidays since 1980. We believe that heliskiing is an activity that must take place in optimum safety conditions, in small groups led by experienced and friendly mountain guides. Its impact on the environment must also be minimal. The adventure that you will experience must remain 'interior'.
